FileMaker Developers in Southern California (FMDiSC) started in early 1999 with a small group of FileMaker developers getting together once a month to exchange development tips and ideas.

It has now turned into a group of more than 150 intermediate and advanced developers who are interested in sharing their development ideas and experiences, and in learning how others work.

Our monthly meetings have become a local center for the exchange of technical information, discussion of timely topics, and for networking (people not computers).

We are a cross-platform FileMaker group. (Of course, since a majority of FMP developers are on Macs, we do sometimes get off on Mac-tangents...but then there are always PC users who will start the discussion toward 'how can Windows users do that'.) Whichever platform you develop on, and no matter how long you have been an FMP developer, you will find FMDiSC to be very worthwhile.

We generally meet on the second Friday morning of each month. Our meetings are currently being held at the
Bresee Youth Foundation, which is located at 184 S. Bimini Place in Los Angeles. You can find a map to their address here.

At the meetings, you'll enjoy the company of good people and good food. You will receive an email reminder with directions and other information about a week before each meeting.

FMDiSC is geared toward intermediate and advanced developers, and the meeting content and on-line discussions reflect this intent. FMDiSC is not a general "users" group. There are otherwise no membership requirements, fees or dues at this time. The on-line discussion list is limited to FileMaker developers who live in the Southern California area and attend at least one of our monthly meetings each three months. Please note once again that while every one is welcome at our meetings, this group is NOT intended for beginning developers or general users. FMDiSC's target membership consists of professional FileMaker developers.
